Effect of Organic Amendment Addition on Soil Properties, Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Grape Yield in Semi-Arid Vineyard Agroecosystems

چکیده
In semi-arid vineyard agroecosystems, highly vulnerable in the context of climate change, soil organic matter (OM) content is crucial to improvement fertility and grape productivity. The impact OM, from compost animal manure, on properties (e.g., pH, oxidisable C, N, NH4+-N NO3?-N), yield direct greenhouse gas (GHG) emission vineyards was assessed. For this purpose, two wine varieties were chosen managed differently: with a rain-fed non-trellising Monastrell, drip-irrigated trellising Monastrell Cabernet Sauvignon. studied fertiliser treatments without amendments (C), sheep/goat manure (SGM) distillery waste (DC). SGM DC applied at rate 4600 kg ha?1 (fresh weight, FW) 5000 FW, respectively. use improved yield, especially vineyards. Increased CO2 emissions coincident higher yields application (maximum = 1518 mg C-CO2 m?2 d?1). contrast, N2O emissions, mainly produced through nitrification, decreased plots showing production (minimum ?0.090 N2O-N all plots, CH4 fluxes negative during most experiment (?1.073?0.403 CH4-C d?1), indicating that these ecosystems can represent significant sink for atmospheric CH4. According our results, optimal management, considering properties, GHG mitigation together, variety Monastrell.

Biochar Impacts on Soil Physical Properties and Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Biochar, a co-product of a controlled pyrolysis process, can be used as a tool for sequestering C in soil to offset greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and as a soil amendment. Whereas the impacts of biochar application on soil chemical properties are widely known, the research information on soil physical properties is scarce. The objectives of this review are to (i) synthesize available data on s...
متن کاملMonitoring Carbon Sequestration and Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Irrigated AgroEcosystems
Conventional field cropping systems have been criticized as being unsustainable because they contribute to on-farm and off-farm environmental degradation, and are often economically uncertain. Methods to increase environmental and economic sustainability are needed. There is a critical need to develop management technologies to maximize yield and crop quality yet improve environmental impacts o...

متن کاملImpact of chemically amended pig slurry on greenhouse gas emissions, soil properties and leachate.
The effectiveness of chemical amendment of pig slurry to ameliorate phosphorus (P) losses in runoff is well studied, but research mainly has concentrated only on the runoff pathway. The aims of this study were to investigate changes to leachate nutrient losses, soil properties and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions due to the chemical amendment of pig slurry spread at 19 kg total phosphorus (TP), 9...
